Hi there,Today David took me to the Swale estuary to do a bit of wader watching,as I hadn’t seen many before.Well I just knew it would be a good day,the sun was shining and the birds were in abundance. Our first bird was a Whimbrel which was pacing along the mud flats in search of food, then as we looked, even more Whimbrel where on the mudflats with a couple of Curlews.You can just imagine how I felt,not even a minute walk and I find myself looking at a new bird for me. We then we over to the East flood were my eyes met a most beautiful sight, waders in every direction.From Avocets to Ruff, as far as I was concerned I was in heaven.Here is a list of birds seen today:Hobbey(2),Oystercatcher(3),Whimbrel(3),Curlew(2),Little egret(3),Greylag goose(7),Ruff(1),Redshank(over 50),Avocet(over 30),Golden Plover(11),Lapwing(Over 15),Dunlin(About 10),Cormarant(4),Turtle dove(1),Heron(2),Black-tailed godwit(Over 60),Pied wagtail(1),Starlings(9),Mediteranean gull(4),Mute swan(8),Pochard(1),Meadow pipit(2),Linnet(3),House sparrow(1),Carrion crow(4),Mallard(3),Black-headed gull(Over 40),Coots(over 20),Lesser black0backed gul(2)Yellow wagtail(1),Moorhen(3).Bearded tits and Reed bunting heard.
