After quite a heavy snowstorm that night I decided to go out in search of some pheasants on my local patch of farmland. I had walked maybe 100 yards and then I spotted a female pheasant. So I rushed back to the house and grabbed the camera in the hope that the pheasant would still be there. Sure enough I spotted her wandering through the undergrowth. I stalked her for 20 mins before she slipped away into the bramble thicket. I ended up on the other side of the hedge which backed onto a golf course where I saw her walking towards me so I got everything setup for when she came past and sure enough she did and I got some great running shots. I then stayed on her for a further 20 mins,stalking her through the bramble was not easy and was quite hard to keep quiet but she stayed and let me take some more pics. It was a great experience and can’t wait to shoot some more in the spring and summer, maybe even with chicks 🙂
