Today I met up with Alex,Danielle and Josie in London to photograph some of the urban water birds around the royal parks. Our first port of call was Regents park where we started off photographing some geese which looked beautiful in the snow. We then stopped off to look at some herons which gave for some nice portraits Heading further round the lake we stopped to see some herons fighting over some food which was a first for me. We all decided to go to the cafe to warm up and re-fuel, it was great to see other people’s shots. After a warm hot chocolate and a well earned slice of cake we braved the snowy conditions once more. This time we went around the other side off the lake where we found more herons and a large group of coots, some of which were fighting it out. Me and Alex took some pictures of some captive birds, trespasser style 🙂 Then we got on on the tube and headed for St James’s park were we meet with it’s famous residents, the 3 pelicans. Daniel and Josie got out some seed and before you could prepare yourself we where head to toe in pigeons. Then the squirrels joined in and well it was absolute chaos. Getting close-ups was easier than expected. All in all it was a great day out and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would like to say a big thank you to Danielle for organizing it 🙂
